The Aisling Children’s Arts Festival was founded in 1998 and its aim was to provide an annual multi disciplinary week long arts festival totally dedicated to children and young people in County Longford. The ethos of the festival is to nurture and develop an artistic appreciation among young people by introducing them to a wide range of arts disciplines such as drama, music, dance and the visual arts through the medium of workshops and performances. The festival is still run by a committee of local volunteers and is dependent on funding from grant agencies and local businesses.
The festival has been organised by a local voluntary committee including
Fiona Jackson, Maria Gray, Patricia Mckiernan, Colette Meally, Nora Horan, Angela Crossan,
Moe Reynolds, Teresa Mcguinness, Sive Mcguinness, Brid Nevin, Rosie O’Hara, Aine O’Sullivan, Catherine Horne.
The Aisling Committee accepts no responsibility for any injuries which may result from any event connected with the festival. The festival organisers cannot be responsible for transporting children to and from events. Adults must accompany small children to the theatre performances. Many of the workshops can be messy so children should wear old clothes or bring an old shirt or apron. Children must be collected on time from workshops.
The Aisling Children’s Arts Festival would not be possible without the generous help of our sponsors:
